VIDEOS PROJECTS

Over the past ten years I have approached the world of video editing almost by mistake, trying to satisfy more than anything else my desire to create short films that could testify, together with my many travel photos, some of the most special moments of my life.

The first video dates back to 2012, when, in the middle of puberty, I decided to take a picture of myself a day, for 3 years, with the intention of noticing the smallest changes in my body, hoping that, like Peter Pan, I was never going to be an adult.

Not being exempt from the laws of physics, the hands of my biological clock have turned quickly, fast and inexorably, highlighting a rapid transformation day after day, from a young boy to a clean-shaven man, almost in the blink of an eye.

Seeing these photos again as an adult, I can't help but smile, realizing how much I've changed over time, making me aware of how time is the most precious asset at our disposal, that no day should be wasted, since, no matter how old we are, we will never be younger than we are today.

The second video, on the other hand, shows my first Camino de Santiago, from Leon to Finisterre, waltzing along that ancient road which for centuries has welcomed thousands of pilgrims, who left like me, backpacking, full of expectations about what was waiting for them along the way. Throughout the journey I was able to see, almost as if it were a metaphor for life, how each of us has our own characteristic way of facing difficulties and fatigue, some by complaining, some with a smile; how each of us has his own pace and consequently goes with his pace; how each person has their own way of taking on the various physical and spiritual burdens on their shoulders. Several times the journey has exposed me to my real needs, allowing me to rediscover, step by step, the unexpected joys of life, made up of infinite panoramas and chance encounters, which give life the magical meaning of living it to the fullest.

Do you know the novel "Around the World in 80 Days" by Jules Verne? Because the last of my videos is inspired by that book, read as a boy, and which inspired me to realize one of my biggest dreams, that is to carry out an adventure around the globe. Leaving from Vienna on 26 October 2019, I crossed Thailand, the Philippines, Australia, Chile and Argentina in order, to return to Europe on 14 January 2020, exactly 80 days after my departure. During my long journey, I experienced numerous misadventures, overwhelmed by a continuous whirlwind of emotions; to name but a few: being tattooed in the Philippines by Whang-od, the world's oldest Kalinga warrior (106 years); having dislocated my shoulder swimming with whale sharks in the middle of the Indian Ocean; being stranded several days on Coron Island due to a strong typhoon; being in the middle of armed clashes between police and civilians in Santiago de Chile.

Each of these episodes, despite the difficulties experienced, has allowed me to grow, becoming the person I am today, well aware of my strength and convinced that life can be very generous to those who have the courage to pursue their dreams.
